Yeah, I don’t get it either. I will say that first aid training makeup can get pretty intense, especially when the person wearing it is doing a good job at acting unresponsive or difficult to work with.

This wouldent help.. You need internal pressure/packing, otherwise outside pressure wouldent work. Otherwise use a TQ first of all.. Additional outside layers of gauze wouldent help either – best regards someone who have done it many times irl 😊👌
